With BUHDA, a name derived from the German term Bild Unterstützte Hagel Dellen Analyse, or Image-Assisted Hail Dent Analysis, new standards are being set in digital hail damage assessment. OUR STORY
Since 2016, HaSt has been developing innovative solutions that are redefining the field of hail assessment. What began as an initial idea has evolved into a highly advanced system that is now used around the world.
The Early Phase (2016–2017)
In 2016, a spontaneous idea emerged with the ambition of fundamentally transforming the hail industry. What started as a vision quickly developed into a serious project. By 2017, the first prototype of a scanner system had already been created, supported by close collaboration with the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS). This milestone marked the beginning of an intensive phase of research and development.
Challenges and Progress (2018–2019)
The technical development of the system proved to be far more complex than initially expected. After several setbacks and extensive testing phases, a major breakthrough was achieved in 2019 with the completion of the second and third prototypes. The software was optimized, and the system was significantly refined. This phase also renewed the motivation and enthusiasm of the development team.
The Transition to Market (2020–2021)
With the addition of another partner to the company and the new opportunities this created for the further development of the software platform, the project gained momentum once again during this phase. In 2021, the technology reached market readiness. The software and the system had now been thoroughly tested, and the original vision could finally be realized in tangible form.
Establishment and Market Success (2022–today)
Following successful pilot projects and countless field deployments, the BUHDA system officially entered the market in 2022. In collaboration with SSH Schaden-Schnell-Hilfe GmbH as its first sales partner, the scanner was rolled out across Germany. At the time, this step represented a major milestone and helped strengthen HaSt’s position as a leading provider in the field of digital hail technology.

On this foundation, HaSt creates the key conditions for sustainable, long-term success for both the company and its customers.
